The Locus Awards, archetypal started successful 1971, are fixed retired annually successful respective sci-fi, fantasy, and fearfulness categories. The winners are determined by votes from the readers of Locus Magazine. This year, the awards ceremonial was MCed by Maggie Tokuda-Hall, writer of the YA SFF books The Mermaid, the Witch, and the Sea and Squad, among others.
